Christmas Fair 2016

On Saturday, December 3, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, their elves and more will be on hand to celebrate the Mount Pleasant Village Christmas Fair. The day will be filled with fun activities put on by the BIA, as well as in-store promotions. New for this year will be a scavenger hunt! Event details are subject to change, so check back again closer to the event.

Planned Activities:

Scavenger Hunt (10am - 5pm) - Think you know the shops of Mount Pleasant Village? Find out by answering questions about our shops and our community. In addition to answering questions, you may also earn points throughout the day by luck, or by completing various tasks. Points may be awarded to participants wearing red. See below for tips, rules and details.

Ride on the Royal Express Train (11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm) - We'll have a little trackless train to take your kids away... and back. This train will circle around a few blocks in the neighbourhood.

Gigantic Snow Globe Photos (11am - 3pm) - Come and get inside a giant life sized snow globe. Bring your smartphone and we'll take your picture for you. 522 Mount Pleasant.

Strolling Carollers - Join in!

Face Painting (10am, 12pm, 2pm) - Face Painting out front of the Belsize at 535 Mount Pleasant.

The Nutcracker and The Grinch may be found strolling the streets. Say hi.

Photos with Santa (11am - 3pm) - Come get your photo taken with Santa at the parking lot at 733 Mount Pleasant.

Tree Decorating and Lighting (10am - 4pm) - Daily Apple and Mount Pleasant Road Baptist Church will lead a tree decoration activity at the church. 

Winterfest at The Briton House - Activities will include a raffle, bake sale, jam sale, book sale, knitting sale, a Toonie Treasure Table, Internation Gift Boutique, several local merchant tables, piano entertainment, cookies, cider and more! All proceed go towards Alzheimer's Research. Click here for more detail.

Hot Cocoa and Free Lip Balm at Moksa Day Spa (320 Millwood at Mount Pleasant Rd.)

Free Jewellery Cleaning and Inspection at Saati Fine Jewellery (512 Mount Pleasant Rd.)

Christmas Stories with Mrs. Claus (2pm) - Come to Mabel's Fables (662 Mount Pleasant Rd.) early for a good seat as Mrs. Claus will be reading some of her favourite Christmas Stories.

Christmas Fair

Scavenger Hunt Rules and Tips: 

  1. Ballots will be ready for pickup near The Granite Brewery (245 Eglinton Ave. E.) and near the Falcon Building (522 Mount Pleasant Rd.).
  2. Have fun and stay safe.
  3. Dress appropriately for the day. Completing the form can take between 1 hour and 3 hours.
  4. Earn points for correct answers and completing tasks listed on the ballot form.
  5. Additional points may be handed out throughout the day by volunteers along the street to participants wearing something red.
  6. Most clues are arranged sequentially along the street and loop around back to the start.
  7. Answers found online may not be up to date. For best results, visit the stores in question.
  8. Fill in your answers and submit a clear photo of your completed form no later than 5pm by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or drop off your completed ballot at any location listed on the ballot.
  9. Prizes will be awarded to not only the top 10 point earners, but also to three random draw winners taken from submitted ballots. Limit one prize per household.
  10. Winners' names will be posted to the Mount Pleasant Village BIA website within 10 days. Winners will be contacted by email.

Harvest Fair 2016

The Merchants of Mount Pleasant Village are thrilled to present the 7th annual Harvest Fair taking place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 24th on Mount Pleasant Road between Eglinton and Davisville Avenue.

This family-friendly event will see the return of Harvest Fair activities like the Pumpkin Carving contest, crowd favourites like the Apple Pie eating contest, and of course, kids favourites like the petting zoo and arts and crafts stations. In addition to the returning activations, the Mount Pleasant Village BIA will also have at least 5 live bands along the street as well as a few local artists displaying their work. Please note that you may be photographed at this event, and photos may be published to our website and various social media streams.

Mark your Calendars for Shop, Wine, Dine on Thursday, June 16th from 5pm to 9pm. 

This new event will feature dozens of businesses offering special menu selections, sidewalk sales and assorted services along the street. 

Participating businesses will be open between Eglinton and Davisville Avenues. Special offerings will include free jewellery cleaning and inspection at Saati Fine Jewellery, special merchandise for sale and hand massages at Healthwinds Spa, flower give-aways at Periwinkle Flowers, and much more! 

Music will be varied along the street with 6 bands, trios and quartets. See below for more detail.

Letters to Santa - Come write letters to Santa! We have a special 'in' to ensure everyone gets a response.

Live Music - The return of crowd favourites (Sweet Derrick Band, The Pepper Shakers)

Live DJ and hot chocolate - Birch Bistro.

Face Painting (10am - 4pm) - Near Mount Pleasant and Hillsdale.

Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Minions and the Gingerbread Man may be found strolling the streets. Say hi.

Tree Decorating and Lighting (10am - 4pm) - AppleTree Markets with Mount Pleasant Road Baptist Church hold their annual Cup O' Cheer event and will lead a tree decoration activity at the church, later followed by a tree lighting ceremony. Hot and cold drinks will be served.
