Brief description of your business

Wanda's Creative Clay is a clay studio for kids of all ages. We target fine motor skills, patience, team bonding, social skills, imagination and even work a little on math and colour recognition all in a comfortable setting.

When did you open in Mount Pleasant Village?

 December 2006

Why did you pick Mount Pleasant Village?

I live in the area and love the street.

What is the most meaningful comment you've received since you've opened?

That my program is "Wandaful" and that I "make children love clay.

What specialty sets your business apart from competitors?

We are a Guinness World Record Holder for the World's Largest Sculpting Lesson. We work with small or large groups and we try to make every experience a positive one for every child/person coming into the studio.

What were you doing before you opened your business?

I ran an aftermarket brake parts warehouse in Detroit Michigan.

What has changed about your business since you first opened?

We started offering school break camps where the kids experience building a larger clay project. We also launched our newly designed Wanna Be Wanda kits. They are clay kits for birthdays, gifts, rainy days or to take to the cottage. They come with a video backup teaching the lesson start to finish.

What do you enjoy most about your business?

I love helping children reach their goals. It is incredible to build a feeling of confidence and pride in someone and watch them grow.   .

Any exciting news or events happening in the next 6 months in your business?

We're very excited to announce the launching of Wanna Be Wanda, specialized clay kits. And we will be adding team building to our list of offerings, both in our studio and in your venue.

What's a fun fact about your business?

We often have our African Gray parrot Kramer join a class or two. And if you're really lucky, you'll see Oliver and Gertie, the two cutest pugs in the world there too.
