Shop, Wine and Dine Format Change and Registration

As we approach the summer, we are getting ready for a new Shop, Wine, and Dine (SWD) concept to take place in June.

Unlike previous years, Shop, Wine, and Dine will take place over 10 days rather than one evening. Here's a brief description:

Concept
Shop, Wine, and Dine will be like our own private summerlicious (but without the ridiculous fees) that also includes promotions from retailers and service providers.

Date
Shop, Wine, and Dine will take place from Thursday June 14th to Saturday June 23rd

What You Can Do if you're a Restaurant
Any combination of a prix-fixe menu, special menu, provide event sponsorship (cash or voucher), or a workshop

What You Can Do if you're a Retailer
Any combination of special discounts, Sidewalk Sale, Buy-one, get-one at X price, any sort of promotion, provide event sponsorship (cash or voucher)

What You Can Do if you're a Service Provider
Any type of workshop, special discounts, Buy-one, get one at X price, any sort of promotion, provide event sponsorship (cash or voucher)

Workshops?
Workshops are a great way to make a lasting connection with potential customers and providing value beyond the typical exchange of goods or services. If there's something you're good at that you can impart to a small group of people in 30-90 minutes, then you have what it takes. Workshops can be held at your place of business, or, if needed, elsewhere in the BIA. The BIA can help manage the sign-up process and if needed, finding a location. They may be free or paid, and you can offer it once, or a few times during Shop, Wine, and Dine. Further, a workshop topic does NOT need to be related to your business.

What we're going to do
The MPV BIA will:
  • Secure a blanket sidewalk sale permit, so you're welcome to put merchandise out in front of your business
  • Promote the event by way of in-store posters, and more online marketing than in previous years
  • Promote the event by way of in-person promotion using BIA 'ambassadors' both during the Saturday prior to the event and the first Saturday during the event
  • Provide musical accompaniment on a few days during the event
  • Assist with organizing of workshops
