Harvest Fair Sponsor Highlight: Terra Bruce Productions

Have you noticed the renovation at the historic Regent Theatre? Meet Terra Bruce Productions, the Newfoundland and Toronto based company which is bringing live theatre back to Mount Pleasant Village and breathing new life into the nearly century-old theatre.

Terra Bruce Productions is a Creation Company founded in 2018, based in St. John’s with producers, filmmakers, musicians, singers, and actors.Together they represent a creative, collaborative force in the production of quality entertainment content for the stage and screen. Terra Bruce Productions was launched in an effort to bring new musical theatre productions to life. In the years following, the company has built a rehearsal & recording studio, toured the large scale Canadian original musical No Change in the Weather, and released numerous music videos and other filmed projects. They produce original Canadian musical theatre and TV and film projects, which they hope will bring Canadian voices and stories to a worldwide stage.

For several years Terra Bruce Productions has been seeking a home stage for their theatrical productions in Toronto. They were looking for a mid-size theatre, but one with the potential to stage both their largest and most ambitious shows, as well as smaller and more community-based events.

Many of the company members live in the area, and they were aware of the building’s long and storied history in Canadian theatre dating all the way back to the 1920s. Terra Bruce were delighted when they discovered that the Regent was available for sale, and that there was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restore it to its former place as a jewel in Toronto’s theatre world.

Terra Bruce Productions saw sponsoring the Harvest Fair as a wonderful informal opportunity for company members to meet our neighbours on Mt Pleasant Avenue, and in wider Davisville.

Actors, directors, musicians and theatre people love a chance to talk about their work, and there is no better place for meeting people than an autumn fair. Some of their entertainers will be joining us at Harvest Fair, and Terra Bruce Productions hope to be able to sing and play for their new neighbours, and give them a small taste of the wonderful work they will get to see at the Regent Theatre.
