We all have heard about shop local campaigns, especially at the height of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. When our small business owners suffered greatly as a result of the mandates to close and the ensuing lack of foot traffic. It was then that the Mount Pleasant Village BIA decided not only to remind you to shop local but also to share with all of you the faces – and pride – of our business owners. We decided we wanted to showcase our business owners proudly presenting their products and services, and we featured their pictures on local TTC Bus Ad Shelters (those ones where you wait for the bus, you know?)
We started this in 2020 and we have been successfully repeating the project annually since then.
It’s more than saying “shop local.” We hope that this campaign was an incentive for you to wander around, stop by, and say “hello” to the people that make Mount Pleasant Road great!
We have showcased over 30 businesses and we want to thank the Government of Canada for supporting this project in 2022 through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). Without them, this would not have been possible.
