We're excited to announce a new project that will have 38 different artists each paint a section of our 38 decorative poles according to the theme "Community Vibrancy".

This project is intended to bring art enthusiasts from all over the city (and wherever else travel is permitted from) to come and view 38 different interpretations of the theme, all over the span of 1-2 years.

Submissions will close Sep 11 at 5pm

Hi Folks,

The Ontario Energy Board has created the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Businesses (CEAP-SB). The program provides a one-time, on bill credit for electricity and natural gas accounts that have outstanding payments as of March 17, 2020.

The applications are open starting August 31st and funding will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. I have included a link to Toronto Hydro’s page.

Enbridge does not yet have a page up for the CEAP-SB program but we expect it will be available in the coming days.

How Did You Travel to The Danforth survey:

For those of you who were able to record how your customers travelled to our BIA I ask that you please send us the results.  If you can scan the tally sheet and email it to me that would be great.  If you can't scan please just let me know and we will come by and pick up your sheet.

Good Morning All,

Premier Ford has announced that Toronto and Peel will be able to move into Stage 3 beginning this Friday, July 31/20.  This allows for indoor dining and the opening of businesses that haven't been able to open in the previous stages.  Attached is the full media release from the Premier's office.
Mayor Tory has said that he will be looking at initiating some additional restrictions during Stage 3.  Once I have further information on this I will circulate.
I know that people have been waiting for such a long time to get to Stage 3 but..... we all still need to do our part and follow the rules.  The last thing we want is to be forced back to either Stage 2 or, god forbid, Stage 1.  So wearing your masks and social distancing are the name of the game moving forward.

Business Name & Address

Snapdragon Designs, 622 Mt Pleasant Rd

Brief description of your business

When I was younger I had a favourite store that I couldn't wait to visit during summer vacations.  It had the most beautiful interesting clothes, jewellery, accessories... and neat little "finds" from around the world.  I've tried to create that kind of a store, along with my own designs of cashmere sweaters & wraps.  I really want people to be excited when the come in and love the experience of exploring & shopping at Snapdragon.

Good Afternoon All,

Here's today's reminders and updates:
1. Reminder for those who haven't done this yet - please email the attached letter to the government reps listed at the bottom of this message.  The more pressure we can put on the April 1st rent issue the better chance we have of making some headway.
2. We posted the call to action re: April 1st on our social media platforms earlier today - please repost to your social media platforms if you can.
3. Media - we have our PR people reaching out to the media to get coverage on this issue.  Today our Board Member, Philip Kocev (iPro Realty) did an excellent interview on CP24.  We are asking each of you who have any media contacts to please reach out to them, send them the attached letter, ask them to help cover this issue.  If you are able to do this and get an interview etc. please let me know in advance.  We're just trying to keep track of all of the coverage.
4. I participated in a conference call this morning with other BIAs and Councillor Bradford - he is heading up the City's Small Business Economic Recovery Task Force.  All of us on the call stressed the need for immediate action on the rent issue for small businesses.  We urged him to get Mayor Tory to push this issue as strongly as possible with the Premier.
5. Our Board Chair, Albert Stortchak, pushed our MPP Peter Tabuns today to increase the pressure on the Premier.
6. Following the conference call with Councillor Bradford, his office sent the attached information sheet on commercial leases.  It may contain information you already know but I'm attaching it just in case.
7. Update: the Province announced today that restaurants who are doing take-out and delivery can now include alcohol in the orders.  If any of you need more info on this please email me.
8. Update: Many of our retailers are looking at doing on-line shopping during this period.  We have access to the City's Digital Main Street team to help you get this up and running.  If you need help please email me and I will connect you with the person covering our area.
Thank you so much for all of your help with the above - I can not stress how important it is to add your voice to these issues.  We are much stronger together as opposed to alone.
Here's the list of people that you need to include in the "send" line of your email:
