Shop Mount Pleasant 2 Win!

David and Kate Young

Meet the exclusive sponsors of #ShopMPV2Win, David and Kate Young Real Estate! This father-daughter duo has been exceptionally generous in sponsoring our contest for the SECOND time, after providing the prizes for our holiday contest.

Many generations of the Young family have lived and owned businesses in Mount Pleasant Village. Kate shared that her grandmother moved from Vancouver to Mount Pleasant to live with her sister above their family-owned fruit shop in the 1930s, and her family has lived here ever since. They couldn’t wait to support the local businesses in the neighbourhood where they have such close ties.

Kate’s father and business partner, David, also owned a fruit shop in the neighbourhood when she was growing up. Kate shared with us her many fond memories of the colourful local merchants, like Mabel’s Fables, that were an important part of her childhood. She also shared that on her frequent walks to her father’s shop she would stop in at a local restaurant that would provide her with her daily saltine crackers growing up. This is a community that she loves.

David and Kate Young were eager to sponsor this amazing contest for a second time because their love for the neighbourhood is so strong. Kate stated that the Mount Pleasant Village businesses are the center of the neighbourhood and it’s essential we support the merchants who make our community so bright!

Thank you David and Kate for your generosity, support, and kind spirits during our second #ShopMPV2Win contest.
