Summer is fast approaching, and kids will no longer be in school all the time. With school ending, you may be at a loss for how to entertain the kids! Well, there is no need to go searching far. Mount Pleasant Village is filled with businesses your kids will love!

Creative Clay Studios

Creative Clay Studios is a fantastic activity to do with the whole family. The pottery studio is welcoming to all, from beginners to experts! There are three ways to get started if you are interested in trying pottery. You can purchase a pass, where you can do your own thing; attend classes where teachers will provide demonstrations and guidance; or purchase an open studio six-month package with weekend access (previous experience is required for this package).

You can also contact Creative Clay Studios here to book an appointment to shop handmade pottery!

Happy Feet Dance

At Happy Feet Dance, children can learn to dance through playing with purpose. The studio prides itself on their positive, encouraging environment that teaches children to be self-confident and express themselves.

Based on the High Five Healthy Play principles, children can learn by playing with purpose. This can help develop musicality, flexibility, and focus. Their classes, workshops and parties can be for the whole family! Happy Feet Dance is welcoming to the entire family from ages 1.5 to 100!

You can sign your kids up for in-studio, outdoor, or private classes. Register now for summer classes in the studio or their outdoor classes every Thursday morning at June Rowland’s Park. They also host birthday dance parties and special events, and workshops.

Making Music Togther

Making Music Together is something you can do with the whole family. Led by a teacher, your family can sing, dance, and jam using everyday items as musical instruments! They offer classes for children from birth to eight years.

They also have in-person classes where children can learn through play and experimentation. In-person classes are 45 minutes long, and online classes are 30 minutes, plus Facebook Livestream jams and lullabies.

Camp Kirk

While only their office is located on Mount Pleasant, Camp Kirk is an amazing camp for neurodivergent children located just 2 hours from the city. Their daily programs are created to embrace the differences in children while having fun and building positive relationships.

Camp Kirk’s focus is on customized care and the children’s differences are celebrated, welcoming children with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tourettes, anxiety, etc.!

They have several different programs you can enrol your children in! Their overnight summer camp offers activities like rock climbing, archery, arts & crafts, drama, and a ropes course. If overnight summer camp seems too much, they also have weekend and virtual programs. They even have financial aid and operate on a pay-what-you-can model.

Midtown’s Tiny Tots

Midtown’s Tiny Tots is an affordable daycare centre located in Mount Pleasant Village that emphasizes music, art, and language. Their educational and loving environment helps children develop the skills to transition into kindergarten successfully.

With three locations along Mount Pleasant, Midtown’s Tiny Tots offers flexible childcare, camps, children’s parties and classes. They also have an amazing co-working space for parents! This gives parents the flexibility to work remotely while their little one gets to play.

Children can enhance their motor skills on the large play structure, balance beam, or hop on the colourful sensory tiles at their activity centre. Another bonus is their small class sizes, encouraging participation, achievement, inclusivity, and strengthening morale.
